El experto explica que no es que hayan surgido enfermedades nuevas, sino que <strong>debido al esfuerzo extra y a las patolog\u00edas visuales de base, problemas refractivos como miop\u00eda e hipermetrop\u00eda estimamos que se est\u00e1n manifestando anticipadamente\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nDe acuerdo a informe de la OMS, \u201cse estima que la cifra de enfermos miopes para el 2025 podr\u00eda ascender a 324 millones de personas a ra\u00edz del aumento del tiempo que se pasa en espacios interiores y de las actividades que implican mantener una visi\u00f3n de cerca frente a diversos objetos, incluidas las pantallas\u201d. Y es que la prevalencia de la miop\u00eda -visi\u00f3n borrosa de objetos lejanos- es de alrededor de 30 a 40% en los adultos de Europa, Am\u00e9rica del Sur y Estados Unidos, y hasta 80% o m\u00e1s en la poblaci\u00f3n asi\u00e1tica, en especial en China, cifra que ha aumentado este 2020 a ra\u00edz de la pandemia y el confinamiento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>C\u00f3mo se clasifica la miop\u00eda seg\u00fan su gravedad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nDistintos y recientes estudios oftalmol\u00f3gicos indican con certeza que el trabajo de cerca prolongado, junto con la ausencia de luz natural promueve el <strong>incremento de la miop\u00eda sobre todo en la poblaci\u00f3n infantil. El especialista de Ultravisi\u00f3n explica: \u201cSi un ni\u00f1o evita de forma sistem\u00e1tica la luz natural y adem\u00e1s se expone a pantallas con escasos cent\u00edmetros de distancia de su cara, va a cambiar la forma de su ojo. Se genera un cambio en el funcionamiento de la retina.<\/strong> Y en cuanto al nivel de gravedad de la miop\u00eda, este se mide en dioptr\u00edas (D), que son las mismas unidades usadas para medir el poder \u00f3ptico de los anteojos y los lentes de contacto. Los poderes de lentes que corrigen la miop\u00eda est\u00e1n precedidos por un signo de menos (\u2013), y habitualmente se miden en incrementos de 0.25 D\u201d, se\u00f1ala.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>C\u00f3mo prevenir una miop\u00eda y otros problemas a la vista<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nParpadear a menudo, no frotarse los ojos, descansar la vista y controlar el brillo de las pantallas son algunos de los consejos aportados por el especialista de Ultravisi\u00f3n para no da\u00f1ar la visi\u00f3n durante el confinamiento de este 2020.<br \/>\nY es que ahora gran parte del quehacer diario est\u00e1 mediado por pantallas y escasa luz natural (en algunos caso, nula). \u201cDeber\u00eda ser casi un deporte visual que los ni\u00f1os, j\u00f3venes e incluso adultos, vean paisajes amplios por algunos minutos en distintos momentos del d\u00eda\u201d, dice Sierra. \u201cQue salgan al balc\u00f3n, o cuando deban pasear a su perro. Que si salen al aire libre no lo hagan con el celular; que esos minutos aprovechen de descansar la vista, de que la luz natural y el enfoque a distancia hagan su trabajo\u201d, se\u00f1ala.<br \/>\nPor \u00faltimo recomienda: \u201cSi se est\u00e1 demasiado expuesto a las pantallas, es recomendable usar l\u00e1grimas para refrescar los ojos cuando se sientan secos. Si se suele permanecer en un entorno seco dentro de un recinto c\u00e1lido, considere utilizar un humidificador para agregarle humedad al aire, sobre todo en los d\u00edas de fr\u00edo que aun quedan, dada la exposici\u00f3n a la calefacci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, al usar un computador debe estar sentado a m\u00e1s o menos la longitud de su brazo de la pantalla.
